Literacy through Children's and Young Adult Literature.


IMPORTANT!! TO ENSURE THE PROFESSIONAL INTEGRITY OF THE WORKSHOP, ALL DEADLINES MUST BE FOLLOWED AND ALL REQUIRMENTS MUST BE MET. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN NO CREDIT GIVEN TO THE PARTICIPANT.



To "officially" register to participate in each month's discussion and activities... join the Wiki.
Then, once your membership has been approved, post on the discussion board under the "Introduce Yourself" thread.

Participants will be expected to:
  • Read the assigned book for the month.
  • Respond to the discussion questions.
  • Respond to other participants posting in a separate post.
  • Create a lesson/unit using the book.
  • Meet together for 1 hour to further discuss the book and share their lessons/units.

Discussion Questions will be posted on the 1st of each month.

Postings to the Discussion Questions and Lesson/Unit plans must be posted by 9:00 PM the Sunday before each Book Discussion Date.

Book Discussions are 4:00-5:00 PM at the McKinley High School Library Media Center (Main Campus).

All other deadlines must be followed.

Participants are responsible for obtaining a copy of the book(s).
